Coach Joe Benjamin has been with RSD Swim Team since 1995. During Joe’s tenure as the Head Coach, team membership has increased from 60 members to over 400 athletes. Coach Joe was responsible for initiating the Share the Dream campaign, which raised funds to build the new pools, offices, fitness center, snack shop, and locker rooms at our facility. During this time, RSD produced their first Junior National, Senior National, and Olympic Trial qualifiers. Our coaching staff has grown from 3 coaches to 10 coaches. Coach Joe is just getting started and looks forward many more productive years with RSD.

Coach Joe started his swimming career at the age of six, and swam competitively through school and college. Coach Joe competed at Junior Nationals, Senior Nationals, and Olympic Trials, and he was named to the USA National Team during his college years, at the University of Georgia. His love of swimming, teaching, and coaching continues to grow. Joe considers his greatest accomplishment to be developing and working with RSD’s incredible coaching staff and athletes.
